AMCREF has received over $300 million of federal and state New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) allocations. The funds are used to finance environmentally-beneficial businesses based in low-income communities in the Southern US, with particular emphasis on rural communities.

Mr. Kenwood is a co-founder of AMCREF Community Capital, LLC and the founder of Rebirth Capital, LLC. Cliff has more than fifteen years of experience working in the specialty finance and environmental arenas. Prior to AMCREF, Cliff worked for Stonehenge Capital, an innovative financial firm specializing in tax credit financing, venture capital and community development. Prior to Stonehenge, Cliff worked as a Project Manager for Preservation North Carolina, where he marketed and supervised rehabilitation of historic structures utilizing state and federal tax credits. Prior to Preservation NC, Cliff worked as Project Coordinator for the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. Cliff holds an MBA and Master of Regional Planning degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA from Rollins College.

Mr. Clark is a co-founder of AMCREF Community Capital, LLC and the founder of Gulf South Finance, LLC. Knox has more than twenty years of commercial and corporate finance experience as an asset based lender, investment banker and corporate development director. Prior to forming Gulf South Finance, Knox served as Vice President, Marketing for Gulf Coast Business Credit, a New Orleans asset based lender and affiliate of Gulf South. Prior to joining Gulf Coast, Knox served as Vice President, Corporate Finance with Hibernia Southcoast Capital where he spent three years executing mergers & acquisitions, equity financings and other financial advisory services for public and private companies. Prior to Hibernia Southcoast, he spent nine years in the natural resource industry as a corporate development professional executing stock and asset acquisitions, greenfield and expansion projects, new product development initiatives and existing operation enhancements on five continents. Knox earned a BA from Tulane University and a MBA from Loyola University New Orleans.

Susan Seagren

Susan Seagren

Managing Director

Ms. Seagren is responsible for sourcing, screening and closing AMCREF’s NMTC investments. She has over 14 years of corporate finance experience, including tax credit financing, venture capital/private equity and investment banking. Prior to AMCREF, Susan was an associate in the Private Capital Group at Silicon Valley Bank Alliant responsible for executing financings for companies in the technology and healthcare sectors. Before joining Alliant, Susan was an account manager at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners where she was responsible for strategy development, client relations and process management. Prior to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Susan was a senior analyst in the Corporate Finance Group at JPMorgan Chase H&Q (Hambrecht & Quist) where she focused on equity transactions for private and public software and Internet companies. She holds a BS in Finance with highest honors from the University of Colorado.

Maria Mandina

Maria Mandina

Ms. Mandina manages AMCREF’s investment portfolio. She brings more than 15 years of direct experience in leveraging organizational and strategic development in the field of capital markets and investment banking. She earned an MBA degree with honors from the University of New Orleans, as well as a UNO undergraduate degree. Maria is a New Orleans native who has served in key operations, administrative, and business execution roles for a wide range of venture capital, financial services, legal, investment banking, and securities businesses. In addition to operating her own consulting firm, Ms. Mandina served as CAO of Global Hunter Securities, LLC, Operations Manager of Pritchard Capital Partners, LLC, and Operations Coordinator for Royal Bank Of Canada. Maria possesses both domestic and international experience, has achieved notable success in improving operations, and played a key role in both start-up and growth-oriented business environments. As a consultant, Ms. Mandina has developed processes and strategic plans for her clients in the areas of Operations, Marketing, Logistics, Finance, and Public Relations.

Nianah Love

Compliance Coordinator

Ms. Love joined the team in 2015 as a Compliance Coordinator. Prior to AMCREF, Nianah worked as a Client Service Professional at Chase Bank. At Chase, Nianah was responsible for the customer service and relationship management activities of an assigned portfolio of Commercial Middle-Market customers. Prior to Chase, Nianah was an Administrative Assistant at Capital One Bank, where she was responsible for administrative support and research activities in commercial banking for sales advisors and product managers. Nianah holds a BS in Finance with a minor in Management from the University of New Orleans.

Ms. Brown was added to the team in 2015.  Dawn brings over 6 years of accounting and business administration experience to AMCREF. Prior to AMCREF, Brown was at Jefferson Community Health Care Center where she was responsible for organizing and collecting patient information and maintaining patient- relationship.  Prior to this, Brown assisted with processing payments and monitoring accounts for University Hospital Services, Inc.  Dawn holds a BA in Business Administration from American InterContinental University Hoffman Estates, IL
