Huber Engineered Wood

AMCREF provided tax credit consulting services to Huber Engineered Woods (HEW), whose oriented strand board (OSB) facility brings a large number of Quality Jobs to rural Shuqualak, MS, which is in a predominately African American county (72%) that is designated an ARC Distressed Area and Persistent Poverty County. The facility will manufacture various HEW products, including HEW’s LEED qualified ZIP System and AdvanTech structural panel products. HEW’s products have set new standards for reducing waste in construction, addressing air and water management, and improving energy-efficient building designs. Actively supported by numerous local officials, the facility intends to be Zero Waste-to-Landfill and will procure wood adhering to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Fiber Sourcing Standard within an expected 100-mile radius.
