Broadwind Energy’s Abilene facility manufactures and repairs various energy industry components and equipment, primarily gearboxes and towers for the wind industry. Broadwind is a US-based energy and infrastructure-focused company with hundreds of employees that supports the need for domestic renewable energy. The Abilene facility provides a valuable additional revenue stream for the company, strengthening their product and service offerings. The project helped to support local economic development goals of establishing Abilene as a hub for the wind industry.
