CommCare, a Louisiana-based non-profit that operates 14 skilled nursing facilities in the state, built a new, $24 million skilled nursing facility to provide vital nursing, therapy and pharmacy services to primarily low to moderate-income people. The new facility is specifically designed to carry out CommCare’s person-centered care initiatives which involves transforming the atmosphere of the traditional long-term care center to direct choice, dignity, and purpose for the residents. In addition to providing 125 full-time jobs, the project is expected to serve 112 patients annually with an estimated 80% being Medicare or Medicaid dependent.
